General Information

The Town House Motel features been owned and operated for 25 years by Tom and Ana Marie Smith. Ana Marie was born in Pamplona, Spain. Her father immigrated to Nevada in 1952 as a Basque sheepherder. Ana Marie comes from a family of 10 kids and features a twin brother. She immigrated to Winnemucca together with her mother and 7 brothers and sisters in 1959. Ana marie proudly became a citizen on February 14, 1968. She is active in St. Paul's Catholic Church and catered as president of the Winnemucca Basque club. Tom is a 5th generation Winnemuccan. His well-known grandfather was the 1st mayor of Winnemucca. The Smith family immigrated to Tooele, Utah from Scotland in 1853. Whilst on his mother's side both the Havilands and Guthrie settled in the early 1860's. Tom is a 1967 graduate of the University of Nevada Reno and played college basketball for 4 years. He catered in the U. S.
