The Bennett House Bed & Breakfast, situated in Richmond, Ky., is one half mile from Eastern Kentucky University, which retains the Arnim D. Hummel Planetarium. The bed & breakfast is situated on the town's Main Street, about 2 miles from golfing at the Gibson Bay Golf Course.
This historic home was constructed in 1890, and was home to Sarah Clay, daughter of notorious Cassius M. Clay, an outspoken emancipationist and the minister to Russia during the Lincoln administration. This asymmetrical brick structure is topped with a high hipped roof of slate with flared eaves, and showcases a 2 story turret with a domed roof. Full, complimentary breakfasts supplemented by fresh bunchs of flowers are catered every morning. The premises brags stained glass windows, hardwood floors and 12 foot ceilings. Pets are not allowed at this property.
