General Information

The Thompson House Bed and Breakfast is a two-story Victorian situated in the Flat Rock district of Mt. Airy, North Carolina. The home was constructed in the early 1900s by the Thompson family as a boarding cottage for lately arrived immigrants employed as artisans at the surrounding NC Granite Quarry. The cottage has a lot of of the things remembered from grandma's house; hand-carved woodwork both interior and out, high ceilings, gingerbread' trim and a lot of of the original brass fixtures. Outside the cottage the wraparound porch features a lot of rocking chairs. There is also a little open-air balcony upstairs. A full breakfast is offered every morning. Unique breakfast is also accessible upon demand, green eggs and ham. Complimentary soft drinks and lunches are accessible. Board toys, books, bad minton, volleyball, horseshoes, and croquet accessible on-site. Tours avaiable of our home for five for a person for those who do not wish to visit.
