Aim built as a railway hotel in 1865, the Keswick Hotel opened its doors for the 1st time in 1869, swiftly gaining a image as the leading hotel of the Lake District. Plenty of renowned customers have crossed its threshold over the years, the most unforgettable being Queen Elizabeth II in October 1956. Improved highway links and the decline of local mining meant the railway ceased to function in 1972. However, the hotel purchased the antique buildings and platform and continued to develop into the popular Lake District venue it's now. If a work traveller, mountain hiker, keen rambler or a lakes enthusiast, the Keswick Hotel is pleased to welcome all. The cosy hall with open fire and well stocked brasserie is the perfect meeting site after a day spent investigating the joy Keswick can offer. The Lonsdale Restaurant provides hearty Cumbrian breakfast and luxurious 3-course desk d'hôte evening dinner to tantalise your tastebuds using, wherever possible, locally sourced make. Set in four acres of tended terraces and walkways, encircled by the marvellous Lakeland fells, play a game of croquet or unwind in the harbour of calmness on propose when you staying at The Keswick Country House Hotel.

All of the Keswick's 74 suites are with taste embellished, every offering a privately-owned en room bathroom with bath and shower, along with a variety of convenient facilities (see individual apartment details for a complete list). Most with vistas of the imposing Lakeland scenery. Upgraded bedrooms are accessible for those customers wanting that small bit supplementary from their staying. Wide station suites have king-size beds, a welcome tray and complimentary dressing gowns. Junior Suites have a disunite seating, with panoramic vistas of our terraces and the nearby mountains. All apartments are available by elevator, however, there may be several steps to negotiate along the corridors.

Area information
Close by is the bustling market place city of Keswick, with its eclectic junction of boutiques, pubs and restaurants. For the adventurous, Lake Derwentwater proposes a range of water sports with numerous strolls and mountain bike trails start at its shores. More energetic, but equally popular, are climbs to the summit of Latrigg, Skiddaw and Blencathra. The hotel proposes the delightful location from which to visit a lot of prominent park amusements throughout the Lake District, such as Lake Windermere, England's longest lake, The World of Beatrix Potter exhibition at Bowness-on-Windermere and the poet William Wordsworth's first home, Dove Cottage. However you choose to spend your relaxation time, the Keswick Hotel is the ideal spot to staying while investigating the enjoyment of the English Lake District.
Travel information
By auto (from m6): Leave m6 at Junction 40 and follow a66 (sign posted Keswick) for about 19 miles. Exit left from a66 by means of slip highway, following signs for Keswick city heart. At T-junction turn right, following signs for Keswick city heart. Follow this highway passing a BP garage, then turn right into Station Road, following signs for Leisure Pool. (This turning is just before a foot passenger crossing and there is a War Memorial just prior to the turning on the right hand side). Follow Station Road past Fitz Park. When the highway bears directly at the Lesiure Pool, carry direct on into the auto garden of the hotel. By CAR FROM Windermere/Ambleside: Follow A591 to Keswick, then follow above directions.
Important information
A credit/ debit card is required as a secure. Whether the booking is cancelled outside of the 3-day notice period, your credit card will be charged 75% of the entire amount of the booking. Credit cards must be awarded at the hotel on arrival for full payment. Please note that there is a 2-night minimum staying at holidays. The hotel does not accept single-sex parties or pets.
Cancellation policy
Reservations must be cancelled three days in good time of your arrival date. In the event of a no show or a cancellation in breach of this policy, 75% of the cost of the reservation will be charged. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.
Child policy
Kids older than 15 year are considered adult for suite occupancy. Kids no older than three year can staying for independent.
