General Information

Tranquil location. Lounge Place Bed and Breakfast is located at historic city centre Glasgow, Ky., 2 blocks from the city's Main Street. Guntown Mountain, a bright replica of a Wild West city, proposes dancing, magical shows, live state music, a haunted cottage, a state store and a cave with onyx deposits 13 miles away.
Features. This pre Civil War home, which was once visited by Abraham Lincoln, has 16 inch thick walls constructed with handcrafted bricks, six fireplaces and high ceilings. Complimentary full breakfasts are catered every morning in the formal breakfast room. Snack and dinner are accessible for a fee. Siesta tea, including desserts and non alcoholic beverages, is complimentary. The guesthouse proposes a parlor, library and a game apartment with a swimming pool desk. A choice of antiques, including a Civil War era Melodeon pump organ, fainting couches and collectables, date from the 1500s to the 1950s. Pets are not allowed at the property.

Guestrooms. Four rooms for guests at the Hall Place Bed and Breakfast propose privy bathrooms. Old wrought iron, 4 placard, Jenny Lind or canopy beds are featured in the apartments. Cable tv is catered. Select suites feature fireplaces and armoires.

Expert Tip. Lounge Place features been a Glasgow landmark since it was constructed in 1852. The cottage was constructed for Dr. Lounge and Theodosia Tompkins Hall by Judge Tompkins, a friend of Abraham Lincoln. Lounge Place was briefly a Civil War hospital till Dr. Lounge and his family moved from the war torn city in 1861. The troops continued to inhabit the cottage during several Civil War battles, including the prestigious battle of Christmas Day, which occurred in the Glasgow City Square.
