Vrooman Mansion Bloomington (Illinois)

General Information

Serene location. The Vrooman Mansion is situated on one acre in a garden like setting in Bloomington, Ill. The manor house is within one mile of the David Davis Mansion Museum and the Bloomington City Swimming Pools. The Miller Park Zoo is less than 2 miles away.
Features. This Italianate fashion home was constructed in 1869, and catered as home to the Vroomans, a family of European aristocrats. Remnants of the nobility that formerly inhabited the Vrooman Mansion are reflected in the family crests carved into the woodwork around the hearth and in the stained glass and leaded glass windows gracing the 2 story foyer. Full, complimentary breakfasts are catered every morning on the side porch or in the breakfast room. Non alcoholic beverages are also provided. The mansion's parlor highlights a hand painted ceiling and the home's original hand crafted dining desk. Pets are not allowed.

Guestrooms. Three of the 5 rooms for guests at the Vrooman Mansion feature privately-owned or semi privy bathrooms. All rooms for guests showcase hardwood floors covered with intricate rugs and decoration reminiscent of the aristocratic family that once resided in the manor house. The Master's Chamber has an original bathtub, ancient bed, marble upper dresser and nightstand and a hearth. The Rose Suite has the original claw foot tub, and proposes vistas of the east lawn and another historic home. Letitia's Room and the Carl Vrooman Suite feature ancient brass beds. The Carl Vrooman Suite proposes a slipper tub and an adjoining living room with a window seat facing the Lincoln Oak Memorial.
