General Information

Before interstates there were roads. Before roads were state highways. And before them all, there was the Black Mountain Inn. Travelers have visited the Inn since the 1830's when it opened as a stage coach stop. A lot of came for healing, as for a few years it is crisp mountain climate made it the ideal sanatorium. Quiet later, the Inn became an artists' escape hospitable the likes of Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, and Helen Keller. Fourteen years ago it found itself in Innkeeper June Bergeron's kindly hands, and now proposes the same rural cordiality that 1st made it outstanding. The Inn allows you to organize your own mountain experience. 7 friendly visitor suites, every with their own privately-owned bath, are just the start. Every morning June serves her award-winning cuisine café fashion: a major course supplemented by fresh fruit in season, tea and fresh-brewed coffee, home-baked breads, and her own home-made granola that features become something of a local legend. After a luxurious breakfast with friends at the morning desk, the striking Blue Ridge Mountains and their neighbors are yours to re-discover, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmore Estate, Chimney Rock, and the local chic of our own vale, are all convenient to the Inn. Pets are welcome here, too, and there are a lot of pet-friendly touring trails surrounding.
