General Information

Featured on the Learning Channel's Great Country Inns Program, this 200 year-old Spanish hacienda combines a pleasing historical atmosphere with deluxe lodgings that provide customers long-lasting taste of the Old Southwest. Built by a Spanish soldier sent by King Charles III of Spain to find gold, the hacienda features been a trading post on the El Camino Real and a stagecoach stop between Santa Fe and Mexico City. In its heyday, it boasted 28 suites, a cantina and a mercantile store. Today the gentle patio is a rural escape of dancing sunlight, shady portals and a dazzling, ever-changing display of bunchs of flowers. Listen to the trickling fountain, snooze in the hammock by the swimming pool, and recline in the hot tub under the extensive New Mexico sky. A hearty, palate-pleasing breakfast is catered in the sun-splashed patio in the summer months, and in facade of a crackling kiva hearth in the winter. A various carte menu greets customers every day with entrees such as decadent waffles, dainty egg casseroles with a taste of the tasty New Mexican green chile, and a knock-out bread pudding that sends everyone back for more. Breakfast at Hacienda Antigua was featured in Culinary Trends Magazine. Colorful quilts, quality linens, polished antiques, and a magnificent range of New Mexico folk art provide every room its own specific feeling. The cordiality and serenity that surround you'll revitalize your spirit.
