Bowen House is a reconstructed Victorian holiday hotel which provides a relaxing, tranquil and welcoming site to visit when visiting York combined with common friendliness and cordiality. Bowen House is in a dreamy tranquil location, at the foot of the City Centre and facilities with self-sufficient off st car park covered by cctv. We have 5 cozy bedrooms, 4 adjacent and 1 with its own individual bathroom. Begin your day off with a hearty breakfast catered in our airy greenhouse and linger over a cup of fresh savoury coffee and decide how to spend your day. York is celebrated for its long heritage and the town walls that surround York are some of the best and most the whole in the state. Combining its heritage with an animated downtown providing a mainland cafe culture there is much for you to experience and experience in York. There are specific occasions and speciality market place days held all year round which will all enhance your stay. York Minster dominates the skyline and is only a 10 minute walk from Bowen House and remains at the very heart of the citys upper park amusements alongside the noted Shambles and National Railway Museum. Both the Minster and Shambles are encircled by cobbled streets and alleyways enticing you to discover and enjoy. York features so much to propose, a diverse multitude of boutiques including old and book dealers, craft boutiques, shops in addition to all the high avenue names. Whether you truly want some retail therapy there are 2 out of city shopping malls at Monks Cross and McArthur Glen. The City features plenty of shady squares, terraces, tea suites and riverside bars, to enjoy a relaxing drink or bite to eat. There are plenty of hidden gems in and around the City that will delight you. There is so much to taste and do in the district you may need more than a weekend. Bowen House is an amiable base to visit longer. The North Yorkshire Moors, East Coast and Yorkshire Dales are easily reachible. Transportation

Directions to Bowen HouseFrom the East A64From the A64 Hopgrove roundabout take the A1237. At the 1st roundabout take the first exit onto A1036 Malton Road. You'll pass the Hopgrove Pub on your left. At the 2nd roundabout take the first exit and continue to follow A1036 going direct on at the traffic lights. At the third roundabout take the third exit. At the fourth and final roundabout take the third exit onto Huntington Road. Bowen House is on the corner of the 2nd turning on the right. From the South and Southwest A19 and A1York heart is notoriously difficult to navigate through so we would suggest that when hiking from the South or Southwest you travel East on the A64 Southern bypass towards Scarborough and then follow the instructions as whether hiking from the East. We appreciate that this will add some distance to your trip. We believe though, specially at peak times that it will save you time and you'll arrive at Bowen House not having had to endure the stress of navigating some of Yorks indoor town highways. From the North and Northwest A59 and A19As you approach York you'll come to the A1237 Northern bypass. To avoid the City Centre we would suggest that you head east on the A1237 towards Scarborough, generally this would mean you take the first exit at the roundabout when joining the A1237. Continue on the A1237 direct ahead at the roundabouts till the greatly end and you see the overhead signs. Take the 2nd exit on to the A1036 and then follow the directions as whether hiking from the East starting at the 1st roundabout. Satellite NavigationPlease note there are 2 Gladstone Streets in York so when using a satellite navigation system ascertain you enter the correct and full postcode. This will insure you come at Bowen House without a detour to the other side of York. The postcode is YO31 8RF. From the Railway Station on FootTurn left out of the station facade. Everytime have the highway on your right. With the Royal York Hotel and terraces on your left, continue ahead, cross the highway. Pass under the brasserie walls and then over the river. York Minster will come into panorama and you should continue towards it. Pass to the right of the Minster and continue ahead along Goodramgate. Go under Monkgate Bar and continue direct ahead to the roundabout. Huntington Road is the 1st left. Bowen House is on the corner of the 2nd highway on the right.
