We have an enviable serene location, just five minutes amble from the town walls and 8 min to York Minster. If you're arriving by auto, train or coach, we are conveniently situated at the foot of the downtown. By Car: We are situated on Bootham (A19), approx 0. five miles from the center of the city. Look out for a footbridge crossing the highway - we are near this, opposite a highly ancient school building. Our parking is at the back of the premises, and accessed from Burton Stone Lane (this highway features the 'Burton Stone' pub on the corner. ) About 30 yards along Burton Stone Lane, you'll find a big car garden on the right hand side. Enter this car parking, and go via the gap in the rear right-hand corner. Our car parking is in the numbered spaces. For those customers who are not familiar with York, be warned that the downtown holds foot passenger streets and one-way systems. For this reason, we strongly advise using the York Northern Ring Road (A1237) and approaching from the North. Coming into York along the A19 from this direction, (signposted 'Rawcliffe', ) we are approximately 20 yards before the footbridge on the left hand side. By Train: To stroll to us from the station takes approximately 15 mins. On exiting York Station by the major entry (with the cab rank, ) turn left. Follow the highway past the Royal York hotel, and cross direct over at the traffic lights. Go direct on, and via the gate in the brasserie walls (city walls. ) turn left, and cross the river. Continue direct ahead to the following set of traffic lights. Turn left, and continue to the following set of traffic lights. Turn left again, into Bootham, and stroll till you discover a footbridge crossing the highway. We are on the right hand side. Alternatively, pay approximately £5 for a taxi!!By coach: York's national express stop is at the train station - see the above directions.
