The Lemon Tree was origianlly planned by a local Wrexham architect, James Reynolds Gummow, constructed as a personal residence in 1865 and named “Abbotsfield”. Gummow was responsible for a lot of of the Victorian bungalows in the region. At some stage it became the Denbighshire and Clwyd Area Education Office.
