Oldfield House is a previous Victorian Gentleman’s residence that now proposes top quality bed and breakfast lodging in Windermere in a tranquil residential district away from the busy major highway yet is peaceful within a short distance of Lake Windermere. Our House is the perfect location for your short break in the English Lake District, if you're strolling in the Mountains, investigating the world of Beatrix Potter or taking in all the other occasions and park amusements the region can offer.

Our tranquil location allows a for very tranquil night’s sleep, so whether its recreation you're after, then our cottage is venue for you.

Breakfast

Our breakfast carte menu reflects our commitment to using fresh locally sourced make that is cooked to order so it arrives at your desk giving you one of the best flavours to tickle your taste buds.

We goal to tempt you with a full English breakfast that uses award winning Cumberland sausages, locally cured bacon, and free-range eggs. For those with a lighter pallet, we provide smoked salmon with scrambled egg on a muffin, croissants, cereals, fruit, yoghurt and a variety of teas and coffee. From time to time during the year we also have on our carte menu Quails eggs with treacle bacon & baby tomatoes, and a mainland fashion meat and cheese platter.

We can provide for vegetarians and by prior arrangement, those with particular diets. There is a children’s carte menu for kids between the ages of three & 12 when sharing with their parents in the family apartment.

If you're visiting the Lakes to tackle a lot of of the strolls in the region, then we able to, by prior arrangement, prepare you a packed snack.

Accommodation

All of our apartments are appointed with plenty of creature comforts with top quality bed linen, TV, beverage tray, hairdryer, radio alarm clock and all the bathrooms profit from the most modern shower technology, superb Egyptian cotton towels and additionaly toiletries. They are all regularly embellished and renowated to keep them fresh, vibrant and homely for your staying.
We have 2 premier double apartments on the sunny facade side of the cottage one with a king-size bed the other a four placard. We have 2 double suites on the 2nd floor one with a shower the other with a bath.

Our flexible family suite able to accommodate a family of two groun-ups and two kids and able to also be used as an adult triple, double or twin bedded suite.

We have one twin bedded apartment and for the single tourists we have two single bedded apartments.

The suites are arranged over the 1st and 2nd floors.
We are unable to give any first floor lodging

Our guests’ hall features local news, a varied selection of books and guides to the large park amusements attainable in the Lake District, which will assist you decide on what to do while you are staying.

Transportation

From M6 J36 follow signs to Kendal. Pick up signs to Windermere. In Windermere turn left at the Nat West Bank. Follow one way system towards Bowness. Turn left into Brook Road. Upper of Road turn right.
