General Information

Ashfield cottage is an dainty 18th century English grange embedded in its own privately-owned panoramic gardens and located in an unspoiled and relaxing off highway tranquil location with vast car park. Our nice bedrooms have been newly re-equipped to a highly high standard in a period fashion, the extensive chesterfield sofas, conventional upholstery, original, quirky artwork and ancient local photographs adorning the walls provide the apartments an adorable shop feel. We have bedrooms facing the good Douglas Valley, all bedrooms have tea and coffee amenities, flat screen digital TV and WIFI. Breakfast is catered in the enjoyable restaurant, nutritious breakfas is catered Monday to Friday 7am 10am and a full English breakfast is catered at holidays. Our restaurant is open Thursday - Sunday. The inn features conference and conference facilities, an a-la-carte dining place with a prime image and caters for wedding ceremonies and selebryties and functions in fashion.

Transportation

From Motorway M6 take Junction 27 and follow signs for Standish. Turn left at the 1st T combination. At major traffic lights (Somerfield on left) turn right on to Wigan Road. After 600 yards turn left on to Ashfield Park Drive. Guesthouse is 2nd right. From Motorway M61 take Junction 6 signposted to Wigan. Turn left at the following roundabout to A6. Take the 1st main turn on the right. Continue for two miles and at the mix turn left on the roundabout Standish, and after a further three miles turn directly at the 1st and then left on the second roundabout following the signs for Standish. Turn left at church on to Church Street. Turn left at end of highway on to Wigan Road. After 600 yards turn left on to Ashfield Park Drive. Guesthouse is 2nd right. Rail - Wigan North Western and Wigan Wallgate train stations are located about three miles away. Air - Manchester Airport is around 25 miles away and Liverpool Airport is around 34 miles away.
