In a district of famous genuine beauty, it brags marvelous views of the Mendip Hills to the North, Behind Beaconsfield in the Mendip Hills there is also a local National Trust nature trail in woods environs at Ebbor Gorge. It makes a charming base being about three miles from Wells, England’s smallest town with its gorgeous Cathedral, moated Bishops Palace, Vicars Close and the historic Market Place. Nearby sights comprise Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole, the historic city of Glastonbury popular for the splendid ruins of its Abbey, for its Tor, and association with King Arthur.
