General Information

The Prince Leopold is a Victoran Public cottage built in the center of the Wylye Valley in 1878. It was named after Queen Victoria's youngest son, who discovered and fell in love with the region after graduating from Oxford in 1875. We acquired the pub in June 2010 and have now completed the refurbishmnet. The brasserie region features been panelled as it might have been when primarily built and there are pictures and artefacts relating to the period throughout the suite. We provide a choice of locally brewed ales at the brasserie in addition to a broad wine catalogue. Next to the brasserie is a Victorian fashion 'snug' the entire with leather sofas, log fire, books, newpapers and toys. The perfect apartment to unwind in. The restaurant looks out over the River Wylye and encircling watermeadows. It will conveniently seat 60 persons. Alternatively, clients able to chose to eat in one of the smaller pub dining apartments. We provide an a la menu which changes daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal, a big range of fish dishes, and certainly the more conventional pub classics. The river runs via the park where visitors are able to unwind and simply adore the vista or feed the ducks and fish! For younger customers there is a play garden surrounding in the countryside. The bedrooms are also recently refurbished. All are adjacent and have freeview TV, wi-fi access, tea/coffee making amenities and hairdryers. Warminster lies to the south west of Salisbury Plain, beneath the chalk downland with its abundant flora and fauna, and at the head of one of Britain's finest maintained secrets - 'The Wylye Valley' with it is interesting countrysides and historic scenery, so this is an amiable tranquil location for walkers with plenty of enchanting strolls of different lengths in the firsthand vacinity. For those who prefer to go through the rural area 'seated' - 'Puddys' riding stable less than two miles away. Whether it is culture you seek then the historic cities of Salisbury (20 mins) and Bath (40 mins) are both surrounding.
