General Information

The attractive and homely Armadale Restaurant and Hotel is situated 14 mile from the Lake District National Park boundary and 1 mile from the quaint and captivating market place city of Ulverston. You're secured of a extremely warm and hospitable welcome. The delightful on-site Restaurant features been presented the four Food Safety Award and features a highly varied and reasonably priced carte menu containing local meats and fish all cooked fresh to order. Booking is advisable as it's popular with locals from the nearby area. The restaurant is highly family entertaining and on a Sunday there are three local roasts to determine from. Our guests tell us our full English breakfast is 'The Best Ever! ' (or you can make a choice a lighter Continental Breakfast). There are three prime bedrooms, all with park vista and all accessed externally giving you the joy of coming and going as you please. One suite is first floor and 2 are 2nd floor. 2 of the suites can simply accommodate four or five persons so you are able to be secured of their liberal size. We invite well behaved dogs for a little fee. The Armadale is situated in the center just off the A590 and in a lovely serene location for either a work or a delights stop and is only 8 miles from the bottom of Lake Windermere, ten miles from Coniston and a fifteen minute drive from Barrow-in-Furness. Using The Armadale as a base there are endless good idyllic locations for strolling or enjoying the outdoors in addition to a lot of treveller park amusements. We will be more than glad to advise you or assist you plan a journey and we able to even give a picnic whether you like. Lake District destinations and sights such as Lake Coniston, Bowness, Windermere, Hawkshead, Grizedale Forest, The South Lakes Wild Animal Park, The Buddhist Priory, Haverthwaite Steam Railway, The Motor Museum, The Lakeside Aquarium and Holker Hall are all only a short ride away. Ulverston is a character celebration and market place city with a lot of shop boutiques, it's the birthplace of Stan Laurel and location of the famed Hoad Monument landmark.


Transportation

Take Junction 36 off M6 Northbound. Follow signs for A590 South Lakes and Barrow-in-Furness. Follow A590 till Newby Bridge at the very foot of Lake Windermere. Keep on A590 towards Barrow. Pass Haverthwaite Steam Railway on your right, pass Greenodd countryside on your right. Take next right turn into Arrad Foot. We are the unique hotel at the bottom end of the countryside.
