General Information

This is bed & breakfast at its finest. If you want an overnight stop or a specific break, you're secured of sumptuous cordiality in a conveniently sumptuous home. From its roomy fashionable suites and bathrooms to the tasty breakfasts using locally sourced or home grown food (you might even hear the hens clucking!), Broadhayes is a captivating spot to visit. The cottage features magnificent views and vast panoramic gardens. Clients are invited to unbend in the tranquil environment and enjoy true pleasant hospitality spiced with touches of luxury. Every bedroom features a luxury shower or bathroom, fresh bunchs of flowers, bathrobes, a well stocked beverage tray with a range of teas, ground savoury coffee and fresh milk, and doors leading to gardens and the park. Visitors are encouraged to appreciate the park, with its sunny gardens and shady corners, and to unbend in the cozy living room with its flat screen television, ample supply of magazines, books and music, and doors leading to a wisteria verandah. There is self-sufficient broadband and wifi too. And no doubt, we want our dear guests to enjoy breakfast in the breakfast room with its beautiful vistas over to Dartmoor. Catered at a time to suit, it consists of seasonal fruits, local or home-baked breads and picturesque culinary touches to the conventional English breakfast. Broadhempston, a treasure of a countryside with extremely small traffic, no st lamps (so look out for a sky full of stars on serene nights), a primary school, antique church, community boutique and 2 thriving pubs, is a peerless venue for an idle amble. Yet it is within several miles of the refined South Devon beach, the wilds of Dartmoor, the spectacularly gorgeous River Dart, the Elizabethan transition city of Totnes and the brilliant lights of Torquay, Plymouth and Exeter. Only 3 miles away is Dartington Hall with its widely-known annual music and literature festivals, and there are countless amusement centres for all the family within simple driving distance. Outdoors, there's hole golf, strolling, fishing and boating. For foodies, theres everything from quality lunches to upper class eateries. So, enough said! Transportation

Directions from the A38 ExeterPlymouth Road, coming from north (London M4M5) or south (Plymouth and Cornwall). Exit at the A384 BuckfastleighTotnesSalcombeDartington turnoff. At the upper of the slip highway, turn left, following signs to Dartington and Totnes. After about three miles, take the roomy vast left turning signposted to Staverton and Broadhempston. The highway narrows almost immediately into a lane. Follow the lane for a mile or so, past the steam train station on your right, being careful to provide way to traffic coming from your right over the station crossing. Continue via the countryside of Staverton and follow the lane for another mile or so to the following countryside, Broadhempston. Do not turn off anywhere! You enter the countryside at a staggered crossroads. Broadhempston is signposted to the left ignore the sign and carry direct on. You'll see houses on the left and the right hand side of a extremely narrow countryside highway. Broadhayes House is approximately 300 m along the highway on the left hand side, opposite a piazza green phone wiring box. Please feel independent to garden in the drive whether there is apartment. Whether you reach a t-junction, you've gone too far by approximately 150 yards - turn around and discover us on the right.
