General Information

A delectable Edwardian Residence offering bed & breakfast lodging. Embedded in an enviable situation within lush terraces and providing a calm outskirts. We are within several mins stroll of Cockington Village and Country Park, less than hundred metres to the sea facade and within short distance of Torquay Centre with its Marina, Shops, Conference Centre, Theatre and Railway Station. Tasty home-cooked breakfasts using exceptional ingredients from local suppliers where possible along with a choice of cereals, breads, fruit and yoghurts etc. Located in the peaceable environment of Cockington Valley, with its historical thatched countryside, but just one hundred and fifty yards from Livermead coast and offering a sumptuous base for enjoying Torbay. The Charterhouse proposes a heated open-air swimming pool from May to September, vast private parking zone and a highly sincere reception. Our fine terraces are an exquisite spot to sit and enjoy a summer's evening with a glass of wine and although we are not certificated to sell alcohol our dear guests are more than welcome to give their own favourite tipple. All apartments are shower en-suite and have colour television and teacoffee making amenities. Kids most welcome and we also have 2 park apartments which are perfect for visitors with their pets by prior arrangement only. Please take into account that dogs are not allowed in any other part of the inn. Self-sufficient WiFi now attainable in a lot of of our apartments. Self-sufficient big car garden. Minimum THREE night stays only during Bank Holidays, school weekends and June, July and August. Credit card payments will incur a two. 5% surcharge - no charge for debit cards.


Transportation

At the end of the M5 continue along the A38A380 towards Plymouth. At the Shell garage where the A38 and A380 fork, take the left-hand lane sign-posted A380 Torquay. Keep on this highway for about thirteen and a half miles till reaching a spacious roundabout close to the Coventry Farm Trading Estate. Keep direct on the A3022 towards Torquay, ignoring the A380 ring highway, which goes off to the right. Keep direct on the A3022 through 3 sets of traffic lights. At the fourth set of traffic lights, with CURRYS on the left hand side, continue through 2 more sets of traffic lights which are close together, at which time the highway widens into 2 lanes, with the outside lane sign-posted Harbour and Seafront. Take this lane and pass via the traffic lights by the Halford Superstore and Tor Station, into Avenue Road. Keep direct on all the way to the seafront and at the seafront turn right towards Paignton. Take the turning on the right hand side, directly after the Livermead Hotel, sign-posted for Cockington. The entrance hall to The Charterhouse is around 75 yards after passing under the railroad line.
