The exceptional twinsuperking situated in the annexe features its own greenhouse, where breakfast able to be taken in the summer facing the heated open-air pool and stunning vistas towards Dartmoor. The double apartment is also situated in the annexe. A further apartment (en-suite, with king size bed) is obtainable on the ground floor of the major cottage, which also features spectacular views over the pool and refined village. Well behaved kids are welcome. We have ample off highway parking zone for all our dear guests, along with safe bicycle storage and a drying district. Our heated open-air swimming pool (open during the summer) is embedded in its own verandah within the south overlooking grounds of just under three acres. The northeast paddock is home to our free-range chickens who give you daily with wholesome fresh eggs for your fine breakfast. There are a few inns within 0. 5m and a range of various eating experiences are attainable in surrounding Tavistock. Dartmoor is virtually on the doorstep, yet our state escape is just three. five miles from the Stannary city of Tavistock. The City of Plymouth, which brags its own airport and ferry port, lies just 14 miles to the South while the M5 motorway and the Cathedral City of Exeter, with its international airport, can certainly be accessed through the A30 dual carriageway. Tavistock is in a uniquely leading position making visits to the relaxation of Devon and to most of Cornwall simple e. g Eden, Heligan, Truro and St Austell, Bideford, Bude and Newquay in under an hour, Plymouth and Looe less than 30 minutes.

Transportation

Appledown House ( 01822 610478 www.appledownhouse.com ) is simple to find and is exactly a short seven minute drive from Tavistock, in the good Devon village. From Tavistock city center proceed past the Bedford Hotel along the A386 Plymouth Road to Drake's statue roundabout. Take the second exit. At the following mini roundabout, with the SPA boutique overlooking you, take the second exit into Ford Street. At the following mini roundabout take the first exit (sharp left) into Spring Hill, signposted Lamerton. Proceed up the hill passing Tavistock Cottage Hospital on your left. Continue along this highway for about three miles passing the sign for Lamerton and passing the Blacksmith's Arrms Public House. After about 0. 5m (and having passed a left fork signed Chipshop and Gulworthy), turn left at the crossroads also signed Chipshop and Gulworthy. The entrance hall to Appledown House is on your left. Nb Satnav will take you to the villa at the base of our park. With the villa on your right, proceed to the crossroads and turn right, Appledown House is now on your right with the lobby several yards further up.
