The Develish stream runs along the edge of the lawn, and a tennis court, croquet lawn and deck chairs are offered for guests' pleasure. Fishing, shooting, riding, hunting, and hole golf are available on the occasion of a demand, and the nearby village is perfect for walkers. Plenty of Hardy landmarks are surrounding, including Tess's house and the Dew Drop Inn. Neighbouring countrysides including both Marnhull and Sturminster Newton feature in his books. A few National Trust properties and historic homes lie in the proximity, and the Dorset beach in within simple get to.
