The Shrubbery Hotel and Bistro re-opened in July 2008 following six months renewal and modernization. Housed in a previous rectory it's owned and operated by Eric Bow and his team. They goal to provide you with a loosen and easy stay in your home away from home. A homely escape from the world, for both locals and tourists alike. The guesthouse features 7 personally styled bedrooms, idyllic bistro food, a valid Pizzeria and a well stocked brasserie. The brasserie features an attractive ambiance, with lots of authentic ales, local ciders, international beers a comfortable hearth, chilled music and chilled wine. In the restaurant our chefs cater renowned home-cooked food, locally sourced wherever possible including locally reared steaks If customers so wish they able to enjoy their food in our stunning garden, where on pleasant holidays we often landlord a BBQ. All our suites are adjacent and are completed with flat screen TV's. There are tea/coffee making amenities in every room in addition to complementary toiletries and trouser press. We have double suites and a triple apartment and we also have one family room that will sleep 4. In the morning an exquisite mainland or full English breakfast is catered. The inn is situated in Shepton Mallet and is superbly located for strolling weekends in the Mendip Hills. We are Only four miles from the world renowned Glastonbury celebration place and Glastonbury Abbey. We are two miles from the Bath and West Showground and within simple transport or driving distance from plenty of Somerset park amusements. These comprise Wells Cathedral, Frome, and the Caves of Cheddar Gorge and Wookey hole. The lions of Longleat are only 12 miles away and the attractive Georgian City of Bath is only a short state drive away.
