Primarily the gamekeeper's house for the Earl of Pembroke. Over the last 21 years, the present proprietors have developed 17 personally designed are embellished bedrooms and an award winning park, home to 11 resident ducks and Snoopy, the family pet, who will offer a ringing endorsement for the English breakfast. Cricket Field House is located a 25 minute stroll from Salisbury City Centre and Salisbury Cathedral, which features the most high Spire in England, and is proud of one of the best conserved of the 4 surviving copies of the Magna Carta, in addition to the earliest working contemporary clock, dating from c1386AD. Customers able to take the Tower Tour, attend services or just browse the noble Cathedral Close, home of Salisbury Museum and the home of the late Sir Edward Heath (often known as Ted Heath), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1970-1974. Tours able to be arranged for Stonehenge, Avebury and Old Sarum, the home of the original Cathedral. Salisbury railway station is only a fifteen minute stroll away, and is on major, straight lines to London Waterloo, Cardiff, Southampton (and Southampton International Airport) and the naval port of Portsmouth, which plays landlord to the historic ships; HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose (plus museum). Southampton and Bournemouth International Airports are both within a 40 minute drive. Breakfast is catered Mon-Fri 7am-9am, check-out 10am; Sat-Sun 8.30am-9.30am, check-out 10.30am. We propose full English breakfast, and a snack bar of fresh fruits, yoghurts and cereal. We can provide for particular dietary needs with prior notice. All make used is sourced locally. We also provide a hot lunch carte menu Mon-Fri 6pm-9pm and are certificated to sell alcohol with this.
