Ye Olde George Inn is a comfortable, conventional state pub run by a convivial team, serving lovely wines and award winning cask true ales. Our food is of a top quality ready by chefs with a genuine passion for local and free-range ingredients. The carte menu changes regularly to cater fresh seasonal make. We provide Al fresco dining throughout the summer and roaring open log fires in the winter. Privately-owned functions are also welcome. Ye Olde George Inn dates back to the fifteenth century and is proud of loads of original character and spell. The pub is embedded in one of England's best historic countrysides, only a stones throw from the South Down's Way, making this a captivating peaceful location for walkers and hikers alike. The pub features 5 cosy en-suite bedrooms accessible, comprising of 3 doubles and 2 twin suites. A pair of our apartments are spacious enough to be sold as triples or family suites. Please take into account we do close in the afternoons. We open Monday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm and then again from 6pm -11pm. We open on Sundays from 11am till 10pm. Check in requirements to be either before 3 or after six. East meon itself features several local sights. All Saint's church retains an original Norman font, one of only 7 calm in existance in England. It also retains a pleasing tapestry commemorating the millenium. Meon Springs fisheries is only a small distance away, providing a affluence of activities. The Sustainability Centre is around a mile up the highway located on the ancient H.M.S Mercury place, offering the Natural burial place. Queen Elizabeth Country Park is several miles away offering over twenty miles of trails perfect for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. The nearest cities to East Meon are the historic market place cities of Petersfield and Winchester, every hosting regular farmers markets. Alternatively, the A3 takes you to Portsmouth in only approximately twenty mins where you could appreciate the historic dockyard, Gunwharf Quays and the Spinnaker citadel.
