Cardynham House is a cute homely hideaway in a Cotswold countryside near Stroud in marvellous Gloucestershire. It enjoys a four Star Guest Accommodation Rating. Nestling quietly in the Cotswold mountains, encircled by some of Gloucestershire's most prominent village is the historic wool city of Painswick. Built of mellow Cotswold stone from the local quarry on Painswick Beacon the city's plenty of picturesque buildings able to be seen as you wander around it is quaint and narrow streets. There is a range of little butiques and galleries to browse around with pubs and restaurants. The Slad Valley, made great by Laurie Lee in his book 'Cider with Rosie' is also noted for its wild bunchs of flowers as is Scotsquar Common at Edge. Edge, Slad and Sheepscombe are all countrysides within short distance of Painswick and well worth a stay. The illustrious Rococo Gardens at Painswick House are open to the social throughout most of the year. In late Winter and early spring the carpets of snowdrops are really thrilling. Cardynham House is a 15th-16th Century Grade 2* listed cottage. There is affluence of character to be found in each suite every one ornamented in a fashion of its own. The House itself features a dwellers hall with open hearth and next to this a greenhouse with cozy chairs facing a little internal patio. Throughout the cottage are objects of interest, books, magazines and art works. Check In is from 12: 30 to 22: 00 & Check Out is by 11:00. Our suites are all Non Smoking.
