There is an affluence of wildlife, numerous strolls and beautiful nature trails, also easy access to the eminent Pennine Way. We are perfectly located to investigate the fabulous landscape in and around Northumberland and the border state which is steeped in a sometimes turbulent and violent heritage, for specimen the Battle of Otterburn in 1388 where an English army under Sir Henry Percy fought an army of Scottish knights under the Earl of Douglas. Only a short ride away is the prestigious Hadrians Wall, built by the Roman emperor Hadrian around 122 AD. Hiking in the other direction is the Heritage Coast with good-looking beaches. Or just simply unwind on the vacation garden and savour the now tranquil vistas without going anywhere.
