General Information

No. 12, as its name suggests, is in Quality Street in the center of North Berwick, just a stone's throw from the haven and local beaches..No. 12 Quality Street was purchased by Stirling and Jela Stewart in October 2005 and was previously called the Harbour House Hotel. The inn is now fully certificated and in March 2006 the first floor was refurbished with simply unbelievable results and now consists of No. 12 Cafe Bar. At No. 12 Stay Over we provide a special, comfortable experience. There is no reception to check in at, just the beautiful smell of coffee from the brasserie district. More than a Bed and Breakfast but without the formality of a hotel, No. 12 is all approximately leisure and informality with first-rate facilities. Bedrooms remain open as normal throughout the winter however the cafe is closed during the day on Mondays and Tuesdays (and is largely unmanned after breakfast) and each night for dinner apart from Friday's and Saturday's. We are glad to organise dinner and conveyance for you to our sister hotel in North Berwick, The Nether Abbey Hotel.

Transportation

Hiking south-east after leaving Edinburgh on the A1 or southern by-pass, which becomes the A1, take turn off left A198 Bankton Junction signposted North Berwick, through Longniddry, Aberlady, Gullane, by-passing Dirleton, Entering North Berwick follow one way system. At crossroads with Victoria highway, turn right into Quality Street. The inn is located on the left. Hiking north on A1 approximately 1 mile past Dunbar roundabout take turn off right A198 signposted North Berwick, through countrysides, Tyninghame, Whitekirk. Entering North Berwick turn right into Quality Street. The guesthouse is located on the right.
