The Walpole Bay Hotel in Cliftonville, Kent, was constructed for discerning clients in 1914, stretched in 1927 and is now being tenderly restored to her former glory. With large lounges, a flower decked veranda, Edwardian restaurant, snooker suite and a 1920s ballroom, visitors will adore the level of comfort and amenities The Walpole provides. The majestic 1927 trellis-gated elevator serving all 5 floors is the centrepiece of our ‘Living Museum’ which will eventually encompass complete hotel. Most of our apartments have balconies, and as The Walpole is placed at right angles to the cliffs, each room features fabulous, uninterrupted sea panorama. With our commodious breakfast room, ballroom with 1920’s sprung maple dance floor, 2 bars and huge service we are adaptable and perfect for most occasions and are an established place for meetings and exhibitions. Our Restaurant, Bar Lounge and Terrace serves tasty home-cooked foods. Throughout the day we currently cater light lunches and our celebrated Walpole Cream Teas. Our Traditional Sunday Luncheons, which are widely-known and superior value, are catered at 1pm when our resident pianist begins to play our 1908 pianola. Surrounding, there are many sights and sights to stay such as the Shell Grotto, Quex House, galleries and galleries. There are 5 theatres including the 2nd oldest in Britain, The Theatre Royal, and the smallest, The Tom Thumb. From live amusement at The Winter Gardens to building sand palaces, visitors experience no difficulty in finding joy in the region.
