General Information

Welcome to Brendon House, a four Star state Guest House, restaurant and tea park nestling in the quiet Brendon Valley at the centre of Exmoor. Formerly a farmhouse, Brendon House was constructed circa 1780 and calm contains plenty of of the original characteristics and character and sits in around an acre of mature terraces in a extremely sunny and quiet peaceful location in the suburbs of Brendon countryside. We are situated only a pair of miles from the rugged North Devon beach and the waterside fishing countryside of Lynmouth. There are indeed pleasant strolls through forest regions by the river, Moorland, conventional Exmoor farmland and the dramatic waterside path to be delighted. From the cottage the Brendon Valley sweeps east to Malmsmead, brought to fame by the book "Lorna Doone", and west to Watersmeet then onward to the countrysides of Lynton and Lynmouth. There is a peaceful resident’s hall with log fire in the winter and an award winning restaurant. Proprietors and restaurateurs Ian & Sandra Rigby take renowned pride in serving tasty, wholesome state fashion dishes, ready from local meats, seafood and game. Seasonal vegetables are sourced locally and complemented with fresh organically grown make from the kitchen park.
