General Information

This character house features much fascination, with low ceilings, exposed beams, natural forest and stripped pine has. Puddleduck Cottage is in a row of 18th Century stone-built cottages, centrally located in the countryside, only several yards from the river and our delightful local Post OfficeGeneral Stores, the popular conventional Ship Inn and riverside countryside green. Access to the Garden, which faces the river and is perfectly enclosed with Summer House, Picnic Bench and Barbecue is reached by means of a footpath from the rear of the house. Weekly bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. By popular demand the house does not allow smoking or pets. A rowing boat is obtainable for use (by arrangement) as is a WiFi Broadband Hotspot for those who must be in contact with the 'real' world! Lerryn is a magic site, peacefully nestling in an attractive tree lined river dale. A little, welcoming, gorgeous riverside countryside, Lerryn is embedded in a conservation district within a district of renowned genuine beauty. The Eden Project is approx 9 miles and the Lost Gardens of Heligan is around 13 miles. On the South Coast, Fowey, Mevagissey, Polperro and Looe are in simple driving distance, while further away, on the North beach, but within simple get to, are Newquay, Padstow and Tintagel.


Transportation

By RoadTravelling M5 southbound the highway ends close to Exeter and becomes the A38 Devon Expressway. Continue on the A38 through Plymouth into Cornwall across the Tamar Bridge. Leave the A38 at Dobwalls ( about one mile after the Liskeard bypass) and combine the A390 towards St Austell. Approximately half a mile before reaching Lostwithiel you'll discover a National petrol station on the left. After passing the petrol station take the 1st turning on the left (Grenville Road) and then left again after about 300 yards (Lanwithan Road). Follow this highway for three miles, taking attention, as it's extremely narrow in places. Lerryn is approached over a narrow stone river bridge, follow the highway round past the countryside boutique and the Ship Inn. Puddleduck Cottage is on the right, the 2nd house past the Ship Inn. By Rail The nearest Rail Stations are Lostwithiel (3 miles) or Bodmin Parkway (8 miles). Thereafter the trip will have to be completed by Taxi (no bus service).
