General Information

The Bateman Arms is an 18th Century, 3 storey training inn located in small countryside of Shobdon in the unspoiled County of Herefordshire, just several miles from the Welsh Border. This listed building is of outstanding and extraordinary design, and plays landlord to some of the last of the antique cobbled paving in the region, right outside our facade door. The Inn itself proposes a affluence of character; you are able to sit in the neighborly and informal atmosphere of the brasserie, with its oak beams and commodious hearth, where we cater a choice of light meals. Alternatively you are able to eat in our restaurant, which provides a carte menu of locally produced and sourced dishes. We also have a toys suite offering the possibility to play Pool and Darts, and a comprehensive ale park with seating, which is accessed through the toys suite or via the parking at the back. The Bateman Arms features 3 major visitor suites located on the ground floor. These are enhanced in classical fashion, but equiped with modern facilities such as remote control digital tv, WIFI I-net access and adjacent bath or shower. Further to there are tea/coffee making amenities, supplied bath robes and hair dryer. In the 'Coach House' we have a further six apartments providing a more contempory fashion even the same, top quality service. 2 of our suites able to be used as family suites providing cozy lodging for up to 2 groun-ups and 2 kids.
