General Information

Allerton is a friendly Georgian cottage embedded in an attractive, monumental park giving the impression that it is in the midst of the state when, in fact, it is just off the Main A68 trunk highway and only five minutes' stroll from the very heart of the beauteous Borders city of Jedburgh. With just six suites (one fully furnished for persons with disabilities), the ambiance is individual and unofficial while the standards come up to those required in these present-day days both for work and recreation clients. The ample apartments are all en room and are equiped with independent wi-fi, digital tv, an Ipod dock, iron, hairdryer and, certainly, tea/coffee making amenities. Your hosts, Chris and Carol Longden, enjoy serving a truly gorgeous breakfast (with healthy and vegetarian options) using locally-sourced ingredients such as St Boswell's Black Pudding, Denholm sausages and self-sufficient collection eggs. There are some truly nice local restaurants and bistros and the fish and chip boutique is delightful and all just 5 minute's stroll away.
