General Information

Woodlands Guest House and Tearooms are located in Charlesworth, in the High Peak area, near Glossop and Manchester. This friendly and well appointed Victorian cottage is embedded in a mature park with fantastic vistas. It features a visitor hall which is obtainable at any time while you are staying and where you are sure to be greeted with a tea or coffee with cake or biscuits to revive you after your trip. There is also a tea suite with vistas over the park, based in the greenhouse. Woodlands is an excellent base from which to discover the Peak District. A short ride into Glossop puts you onto the A57 that takes you over the Snake Pass to the Ladybower reservoir region, well known for its ‘Dambusters’ raid practice. Driving south to Chapel-en-le-Frith gives direct access to the Hope Valley where you are able to stay show caves at Castleton or take in the panoramas from Mam Tor. Keep driving south from Chapel to the thermal city of Buxton or Chatsworth House, Haddon lounge or even a small in addition get to Ashbourne. There is constantly Manchester for a town day, shopping or sightseeing hiking from the local railway station one mile from Woodlands which takes 20 min on the train. Woodlands is managed by Judy and Brian Mairs. Judy features been selected as a upper 20 finalist in the exclusive AA ‘Landlady Of The Year’ event in the year 2003, 2004 and 2006 and 2008. The tearoom was nominated in the Derbyshire Food and Drinks Award 2008/9 and was runner up in the Top tearoom in all of Derbyshire, beating greatly stiff competition.
