Welcome to this quality 16th Century training inn that Thomas Hardy called 'The Sow and Acorn' in 'Tess of the d'Urbervilles'. Embedded in the lively West Dorset countryside of Evershot, this fascinating antique stone-built Inn brags worthy heritage. Primarily known as The Kings Arms, it once brewed its own ales with water drawn from the source of the River Frome. All the original spell and character of 400 years exudes from the beamed bars and log fires that greet visitors on arrival. Nestling amongst the rolling mountains in a district of prominent beauty and at the foot of the British Heritage Coastline, you have the main basis for exploration or strolling. The 10 en apartment bedrooms are individualy colored and have their own fashion and character, every taking a name from Hardy's Tess of the d'Urbervilles. Well behaved dogs are highly welcome! Only one of the best fresh local ingredients are used to make lovely meals, in either of the bars or the restaurant. The 2 oak-panelled bars propose true ales, in addition to a large wine catalogue.
