General Information

With many sights all year round, and landlord to the Edinburgh International and Fringe Festival in August every year, Edinburgh is the perfect place for a short break. Town tours are plenty of and varied from open upper bus rides to midnight ghost hunts. Heriott Park commands a firstrate situation for watching the Edinburgh Festival Fireworks and is within short distance to the Port of Leith, where plenty of Bistros and Fish restaurants have appeared over the years. Leith is home to the previous Royal Yacht Britannia which, after wide renewal, is now open to customers. Edinburgh features a net of walkways and cycle tracks which able to be accessed directly in front of the holiday hotel and offer an alternative route into the town away from busy highways. Surrounding, is the Royal Botanic Garden. The biggest section of the park is the Arboretum where guests able to wander or uncoil in the shade of trees and shrubs from all over the world. Some of the majority glorious flowering is in the surrounding Rhododendron Walk. Edinburgh Castle is worth a day out by itself and retains a prosperity of heritage. The palace is at the upper end of the Royal Mile which is full of enjoyable architecture and places to stay, such as the Cathedral, John Knox's House and Mary King's Close. Close to the palace you are able to learn approximately Tartan weaving and go on to example a whole variety of whiskies in the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre. At the foot of the Royal Mile is the Palace of Holyrood - the Queen's official residence when on country visits, in addition to the Scottish Parliament and the Dynamic Earth exhibition. Surrounding is Arthur's Seat which is worth a climb on a serene day for the striking vistas it affords over the town and over to Fife. Whether the weather is picturesque you are able to see the peaks of the highlands in the far north.
