Room information
We have a variety of lodging to suit your requirements, from single to American king-size beds, through to family suites. Every have central heating, color TV, tea/coffee making facility, hairdryer etc. Cots and hypo-allergenic duvets and pillows can be provided. All our apartments are well embellished and equipped and all have en-suite toilet and shower. Suites are cleaned on a daily basis. Please note: If you require a four-poster you must specify on booking and there is an supplementary charge.
Food & beverage
Your landlord, Susie's primary hobby is cooking and Barony House visitors can expect a true Scottish breakfast every day in the morning. Begin the day with your own choice of cereals, yogurts, fruit, porridge or, for the larger appetite, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns and eggs. She and her husband Leonard, have a extensive knowledge of local restaurants and eateries, theatres, relaxation amenities and attractions and will gladly assist you plan a unforgettable staying in Scotland. Naturally, there is tea and she only serves newly ground coffee. Peculiar dietary needs are also served for.
Area information
Our guesthouse is next to Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the historic New Town, Princes Street and the Royal Mile. It's handy for the a lot of venues during Edinburgh Festival and Fringe and also Edinburgh's military tattoo. Whether you wish to play golf, or investigate the beauty of the Scottish village you do not have to travel far to enjoy these pursuits.
Travel information
From South M6/A74 From the A74 take the A702 at ABINGTON Services through BIGGAR which will bring you on to the A720 City Bypass. Go round both roundabouts and combine the Bypass where signposted "Edinburgh South & East". Leave the Bypass at the 1st blend marked "Straiton Junction", unite the A701 and follow the signs for City Centre. After two. five miles (4 km) you'll come to a wide traffic lights fusion go direct over on to Craigmillar Park. Half a mile further on you'll see "Barony House" on the right. From South M1 Take the A68 from Scotch Corner, through Jedburgh and Dalkeith. After Dalkeith the highway will merge with the A7 where you follow the City Centre signs. When nearing the City Centre you'll approach a commodious roundabout under a rail bridge. Take the second exit ("City Centre A701" "Newington") and then turn right onto Craigmillar Park. Half a mile further on you'll see "Barony House" on the right. Alternatively: Take the A1 round the waterside route and combine the A720 City Bypass as you approach the town. Leave the Bypass at the 1st blend (Sheriffhall Roundabout) and combine the A7 signposted Edinburgh where it merges with the A68. Then as above. From Glasgow The M8 Motorway now terminates at a roundabout known as the "Edinburgh Interchange". On the roundabout take the third exit signposted "Edinburgh South & East" and combine the A720 City Bypass. Continue on the bypass till Straiton blend, leave the bypass and combine the A701 as for M6 traffic. From North M90 Follow signs for City Centre, Princes Street, Berwick Upon Tweed A1 & East which will take you along Queen Street. Go directly at the roundabout ("All other routes") and up Leith Street, keeping John Lewis on your right. Go direct on at the the traffic lights and left on to North Bridge, keeping the New Balmoral Hotel on your right. Continue direct on till the highway becomes Minto Street then Mayfield Gardens. We are number 23, on the left. Alternatively: follow the signs for City Bypass and proceed as for Glasgow arrivals. (This route, although slightly longer, avoids all town confusion). From Edinburgh Airport Follow the A8 trunk highway to the "Edinburgh Interchange". Follow signs for A720 Berwick and South then continue as above (from Glasgow). By Rail Exit from Waverley Station by highway entry turning right up on to Princes Street. Cross over to the boutiques side for buses numbered three, 31, 69 or 80 hiking East. Bus will immediately turn right on to North Bridge. Travel along the major route till boutiques finish and Hotels/Guest Houses commence. Exit on Mayfield Gardens outside the The Glenfield House Hotel. We are next door.

Cancellation policy
seven days before date of arrival. 14 days for social weekends, rugby holidays and recent year. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.
Child policy
Kids are extremely welcome however we do charge for kids who wish to sleep in a bed and have breakfast. Babies in cots are independent.
