Area information
Edinburgh has elegant architecture, old-fashioned streets, wonderful terraces, famous museums roomy open spaces and Georgian terraces; as you stroll the streets there is a celebrated sense of heritage. Dominating the skyline is Edinburgh Castle sitting on its crag above the town. The Royal Mile runs east from the palace to the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Arthur's Seat, the core of an extinct volcano rises 251m above sea level. From the upper there are dainty vistas of the Firth of Forth. The easiest stroll up to the summit is from the auto garden beside Dunsapie Loch. Since the late 1940s Edinburgh has played landlord to the International Festival and the Festival fringe. This has grown over the years and now consists of the Military Tattoo, the Film Festival, the Book Festival, the Jazz and Blues celebration and the Mela. Combined these occasions are known as 'the Festival' covering a spacious variety of performance styles and venues and are probably the biggest and most exclusive arts festivals in the world. Come and visit us in this vibrant breathtaking town - you'll not be disappointed!
Travel information
We are located on the A7 - one of the major routes into Edinburgh City Centre from the motorway A720 Edinburgh town by pass. The A720 to Edinburgh Airport, A7 to Gala, A68 to Jedburgh, and the A1 to Berwick upon Tweed all converge at the Sheriffhall roundabout from which an exit leaves directly to Old Dalkeith Road (A7) and Arden Guest House. Maps accessible from our enquiry line. We are a five mins cab ride from Edinburgh Waverley Station and the downtown. The district in which the holiday hotel is located, is called Little France and it's exceptionally well catered by the Lothian bus net in the district, including numbers 33 and 49 all passing on a frequent basis and we have a bus stop right outside our door.
