16th Century Manor House hosting bed and breakfast, in the center of Strete countryside, close to Dartmouth, South Devon. Glorious views across Start Bay to Start Point Lighthouse and the mouth of the river Dart. The peaceful location is perfect to discover the South Hams, including the prize winning beaches of Slapton Sands and Blackpool Sands, Slapton Ley Nature Reserve and the South West Coast Path. Situated near to Dartmouth, with Torcross, Slapton and Salcome surrounding, Strete features 2 restaurants, one Michelin noted. Strete Barton House features been sympathetically re-equipped with a mixture of modern and Eastern classical art, dainty French sleigh beds (including a super-king size four-poster), Egyptian cotton bed linen, silk bed furniture and accessories, featherdown pillows, fluffy white towels, tv with DVD/CD player, spacious beverage tray, mineral water and opulent French toiletries. All bedrooms are commodious double size, some with twin beds. The visitor living room is filled with sofas and armchairs and an open hearth. On arrival all our dear guests are catered a cup of tea or savoury coffee and homemade cake in the living room or on the verandah overloooking the sea and large park. Breakfast is catered in the breakfast room facing the park. Full English breakfast is offered using local ingredients, fresh home made fruit salad, home made jams and marmalade, local farm yoghurts and local bread. Vast suites, Inglenook fireplaces and a walled park with far reaching sea panorama.
