(William and Daniel Grant were noted in heritage as being the 2 characters that Charles Dickens based his Cheeryble Brothers upon in his novel Nicholas Nickleby). In 1828 is acquired its present name and as such features been popular as a pub, meeting spot and place for plenty of local occasions.
