Area information
The wood is a living and working spot where ponies and cattle freely graze the land and assist to keep the patchwork of various habitats intact. Deeper in the wood, wild deer browse beneath canopies of mighty oak and beech – natural scenes unchanged by the up-to-date world. The open heaths of The New Forest are perfect basking grounds for adders and grass snakes, and the plenty of pools dotted around the district produce perfect terms for frogs, toads and lizards. All of these can be seen at The New Forest Reptile Centre, which also proposes woods trails. There are dozens of occasions all year round to facilitate you receive near nature – from Dawn Chorus Walks to Deer Watches. Try investigating the wood at various times of year and at various times of day. The wood is most atmospheric at dusk – you also stand one of the best opportunity of seeing deer, bats and nightjars. Also why not call in to the Visitor Information Centres at Lyndhurst, Lymington or Ringwood for an up to date calendar of wildlife strolls and occasions. Please keep your distance from ponies and donkeys. The wood provides many food for them and they are dangerous to approach. Remember, not feeding them is better for them and better for you!
Travel information
Exit 1 off the M27, take A337, 9 miles to Brockenhurst by means of Lyndhurst. On the approach to Brockenhurst, over a stream, turn right into Rhinefield Road, follow the winding highway half a mile to a 'T' blend and turn into Rhinefild Road. Wood Park Hotel is a small way along on the left hand side.

Cancellation is by 12 noon on the day of arrival The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival.

Kids under the age of 14 sta self-sufficient in our hotels when they are sharing a apartment with 2 groun-ups. (This does not apply for speacil breaks). At certain times of the year kids staying independent and eat self-sufficient, please ask for details.
