Images of Cleaver Inn Houghton Conquest Bedford

General Information

It's a well established English state inn with fine food and apartments. Located just off the A6, five miles south of Bedford, it's convenient for Luton Airport, the M1 Junctions 12/13 and both Flitwick and Bedford train station. There are lots of things to do and see in the region - from Woburn Safari Park to strolling the Greenslade way. Records put the pub at 1796 but it's thought to be older. Primarily called the Butchers Arms and was owned as part of the manor and the Conquest family who owned the Manor from the 13th Century, when it was named Conquestbury or Houghtonbury. We have a pair of resident ghosts, so whether you feel a draught it might not be a window open... You will constantly discover a sincere reception with a roaring log fire in winter and a prime park, perfect to whilst away those long summer months in the evenings (remember those? ) If you're just searching for a true, conventional brasserie for a glass of genuine ales and a sandwich or a fine venue for a meal and a stop over we are certain the Knife and Cleaver is the venue for you.
