Abercelyn Country House Bed and Breakfast Bala

General Information

Abercelyn Country House is an 18th century, Grade II-listed, former rectory embedded in award-winning, landscaped, mature terraces facing Bala Lake in the Snowdonia National Park. The radiant, roomy bedrooms are furbished with individual period pieces and all have en-suite luxury bathrooms (all have power-showers, 2 have creek baths). There is a relaxing living room with library and log fire for visitors use. Marvellous home-cooking (inc. particular diets) with local make and choice of breakfast, with lately baked bread, independent collection eggs and home-made preserves. Located in a rural tranquil location, just a short meander from the lake and at the foot of the market place city of Bala, which offers an option of pubs, restaurants and boutiques. The local mountains give un-crowded strolling in 3 mountain ranges and there are famous water-sports amenities, with sailing on Bala Lake and the National Whitewater Centre, surrounding. There is a challenging hole golf course with lake vistas. Guided strolling and canoeing is obtainable (by arrangement) and further a library of strolling guidebooks. Other open-air activities able to be arranged, including whitewater rafting, sailing, climbing, mountain biking, 4x4 driving, etc. Private car park, locked storage for bicycles and drying suite are offered. An exquisite peaceful location for tourism North Wales and Snowdonia.

On the A494 Bala to Dolgellau highway. In the Bala to Dolgellau direction: mile after leaving Bala, pass sign Llanycil, drive security Abercelyn is on the right, before turn to Parc, in front of the church. In the Dolgellau to Bala direction: pass sign Llanycil, drive security, Abercelyn is on the left, in front of the church.
