General Information

Our four Lakeland Inn was constructed in 1872 and is lodged on the south overlooking slope in Little Langdale -one of Lakeland's unspoiled regions. The Three Shires provides the ideal position for strolling, hiking and relaxing. We have 10 prettily equipped rooms with attractive fell vistas. Log fires, conventional Ales, deluxe food, pleasant vistas and high-quality service. In summer months the verandahs and window ledges are covered with good-looking hanging baskets and flower boxes. You're assured prime, warmhearted service and a sincere welcome from the personnel, and the Stephenson family who are celebrating 25 years at the Three Shires Inn. There are a lot of strolls direct from the door yet we are just ten minutes from Ambleside and Coniston.


Transportation

From Ambleside take the A591 towards Langdale and Coniston. At Skelwith Bridge keep left on the major highway to Coniston. Take the right turn sign posted 'Elterwater, The Langdales, Wrynose Pass'. Drop down hill and take 1st left to Little Langdale.
