Grizedale Lodge is set on the edge of the superb Grizedale Forest. The Lodge is wonderfully central for all the many sights - historical, cultural and simple - that Lakeland possesses. 2 miles away is the scenic village of Hawkshead with its Inns and Restaurants and the historic Grammar School that Wordsworth attended - and whose name is tranquil to be seen scratched into the table - and there too is the Beatrix Potter exhibition. One able to stroll over the hill to the back of the Hotel to Brantwood, home of John Ruskin, and Coniston Water. Our visitosr able to drive through marvellous lively highways to Lakeside and select to travel on the protected Railway or on the steamers that ply their way the length of Windermere to Bowness and Ambleside. Alternatively, a short ride takes one to the popular market place city of Ambleside or to Sawrey and the auto ferry to Windermere or one able to head easily towards Grasmere and behind. Being at the very heart of the Lake District means that nothing and nowhere is too far!
