General Information

The name of the inn features rather an extraordinary origin. In days gone by, rich farming gentry sent their offspring to be educated in Oxford and would arrive there the whole with their horses and hunting dogs. The Colleges allowed their students to stable horses but not the dogs! Alas, with nowhere else to cottage the animals, the proprietor of the local inn offered an invaluable 'dog sitting' amenities and the venue became known as the Dog House. In new times, it features quiet been requested that we offer a dog sitting amenities! These days we have 20 cozy en apartment bedrooms including two feature apartments. The apartments are appointed with colour television, tea/coffee making amenities, iron and ironing boards. Whether there is anything we able to do to produce your visit more prime, please ask any one of the Dog House team. Enjoy a drink in the Old English fashion beamed ceiling brasserie, in facade of a roaring log fire or on the courtyard. Then have dinner in the Restaurant or our Conservatory where each care to detail is taken. As you would expect we are proud of ourselves on excellent food, varying from light brasserie meals to our sizeable major carte menu. You are able to be sure of the most high standards of facilities.
