General Information

Pazo da Trave, a castle built by the old Galician and Asturian nobility more than 5 hundred years ago. The castle is embedded in a superior island of the beach of Lugo, a district known locally as the Marina de Lugo, 3 kilometres away from the estuary of the noble tidal inlet called ria de Viveiro, between beaches and hills, in an enchanted dale encircled by tranquility, silence and ancestral houses. The castle features 18 apartments (four apartments, one of the latter is indeed outstanding), and roomy common districts. Its big garden is populated with common trees and the autochthonous vegetation of Galicia, which sway together around a well, a distinctive Galician granary (locally referred to as horreo), a palm tree, a pigeon-house and a chapel, all encircled by a little wood which is also part of the palace's grounds. There is also a dining place with a breakfast room and a glass enclosed arbour, a sauna, a gymnasium, a pool, a loungereading apartment with a hearth, meeting rooms, balconies and museums in addition to a few tables and benches scattered amongst the perennial green vegetation.
