This peculiar spot in the world is only 10km away from the airport, but simultaneously it's situated in a still residential region and close to the downtown. The hotel has 12 floors in entire. The hotel contracted a group of 19 outstanding architects and designers, from13 various nationalities from around the world: Jean Nouvel, Javier Mariscal y Fernando Salas, Arata Isozaki, Norman Foster, Richard Gluckman, David Chipperfield, Zaha Hadid, Victorio y Lucchino, Mark Newson, Kathryn Findlay, Jason Bruges, Ron Arad, John Pawson, Plasma Studio, Christian Liaigre, Teresa Sapey, Arnold Chan, Felipe Sáez de Gordoa and Oscar Niemeyer. The originality, luxury, innovation and freedom of the above group are evident throughout and every floor has a various design notion, making every floor feel like a whole various hotel. Food & beverage
The hotel’s restaurant ‘Lagrimas Negras’ was planned by Christian Liaigre and is managed by the famous cook José Luis Estevan. The cuisine is based on conventional Spanish dishes yet with an original, creative and trendy twist. The restaurant also proposes a wine list of over 750 wines on the guidance of the wine steward Juan Antonio Herrero (who in 2006 was presented with finest Sommelier in Spain, Madrid Fusion – an international Summit of Gastronomy). Marmo Bar: Located on the 1st floor the bar’s highlight, planned by Mark Newson, is the Carrara marble brasserie, 8. 25 m long and elaborated from a single piece. Sky Night: Also planned by Jean Nouvel, the brasserie is situated on the upper floor of the hotel and is the perfect site for enjoying a drink whilst admiring some of the most astonishing panoramic vistas over Madrid.
