Hostal Del Senglar Espluga de Francoli

General Information

Hostal del Senglar features an idyllic rustic peaceful location, in the mountains of southern Catalonia. Refurbished in 2000, the three-storey whitewashed and terracotta-roofed Hostal del Senglar is now almost absolutely obscured by the evergreen trees of its own park, along with those of the neighbouring civic garden of Espluga de Francoli.

It is a white-walled and wooden-beamed labyrinth interior. The many-chambered dining lounge, with its wooden balconies. The five-course Menu de Calcotada is an appropriately old-fashioned carouse - a conventional festival of the vine and onion crops peculiar to the region (calcots is Catalan for shallots). The radiant bedrooms have stout forest and leather chairs, and decent-sized tables as well as beautiful, solid beds. Liberal rugs add cordiality to the red-tiled floors, and plants, pots and original oil-paintings are dotted around.
It proposes self-sufficient Wi-Fi access in public zone, and independent private car park on place. It features a twenty-four hour reception desk with security deposit box. During summer months season (from 24th June until end of August) it proposes free use of the swimming pool situated two minutes strolling.

This conventional holiday hotel is embedded in the countryside of Espluga de Francoli. It is only 2km away from Poblet Monestary, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Plenty of other cultural activities able to be done in the countryside (Rural Life Museum and the pre historic Caves to visit…)

The area provides the chance to practice activities like biking, tracking, quads and horse riding.

During the last 3 decades, the holiday hotel features developed a credible Catalan cuisine based on daily fresh market place products. This devotion for classic cuisine features made it prominent in the 2 provinces of Tarragona and Lleida.

The gorgeous Medieval city of Montblanc is directly 10km away. There is direct access to Reus Airport and the Roman town of Tarragona.
