Ohla Hotel Barcelona

General Information

The Ohla Hotel is constructed on the property of an old Roman water canal and the castle of the 1st Count of Barcelona, Guifre el Pilos. The up-to-date building dates back 20 years and was primarily the premises of Barcelona's 1st department store (Casa Vilardell). The structure was refurbished under the direction of Alonso, Balaguer y Arquitectos Asociados with artistic assistance by Frederic Amat. During the refurbishment, the historical building front and other historical elements of the initial building have been protected in their entirety, while the inside design of the structure is avant-garde in its approach, combining various white and black textures with oak forest. The end result is a 74-room shop hotel with meeting facilities, a good health centre, sundeck and a range of dining choices in a superb setting with all of the details and personified service one would expect from an establishment whose goal is nothing short of excellence.
