Protea Hotel Mossel Bay

General Information

This recently renovated three star landmark hotel, built in 1846, faces Santos Bay and the haven. Situated near to the Mossel Bay shoreline with the Outenique hills as a backdrop and in the very heart of city.

This guesthouse is in the immediate vicinity of the local boutiques, the yacht club, the haven and Mossell Bay's beaches. As our hotel is part of the gallery complex, the Maritime, local heritage and the Shell Museum are all within short distance. There is a fresh hole golf collection 2kms away and the airport is only a 20 minute drive. Once a prison this is actually a highly beautifyul building and features a brasserie next to the open-air pool.

The major building is one of the oldest buildings in Mossel Bay which is part of the Dias Museum Complex. There are mediterranian fashion stone wall out-buildings which are also part of the guesthouse.

A medium sized foyer with stone floor and a greatly contemporary slick design all round. The reception is direct ahead as you enter and there is an i-net station to the left. Huge flower arrangements are spread out in the entrance hall.

The hotel features 31 highly idyllic suites all en-suite with satellite television, phone, nice sized homely beds and tea & facilities of making coffee.

The restaurant in our hotel is the best in the town. Run by a wonderful restaurateur the carte menu is fantastic with a mix of local and international recipes and a large choice of fresh fish. The restaurant features seating in the guesthouse patio in addition to indoors and is famous with hotel visitors and the general social.
