The Inn is the whole year round. It's not a nice site for persons with mobility problems.

The Inn provides 6 bedrooms with privately-owned bathrooms, all apartments are traditionally equipped. All apartments overlook the south and the sea. The three apartments on the top floor have a renowned vista of the sea over the vineyard. The three apartments on the lower floor open directly onto the verandah and the park. Every room is equipped with a straight dial telephne, TV, a safe and hairdrier.

Breakfast and dinner can be taken in the old kitchen or in the park. Breakfast is a little but greatly complete cafeteria. Dinner is a set menu of wholesome state food. The food we cater is generally not accessible in restaurants, and is based on local dishes.

Quint das Vinhas is extremely well located on the South east beach of Madeira Island. This is both the sunniest and less developped side of the island. For nature admirers and walkers, we are within a short distance of the high plateau of Paúl da Serra, the waterfall of Rabaçal, the anicent trees in the Fanal which are the last remnants of the indigenous flora. For surfers we are mins away by auto from Jardim do Mar and Paúl do Mar. There are also picturesque mountainbiking trails in Fonte do Bispo, not to mention all the strolling probabilities. We are also five mins by auto from the golden coast at Calheta. This can be crowded in Summer, but is blissful in winter and spring. Calheta also brags a unbelievable arts complex, Casa das Mudas, which is architecturally imposing to see, even whether there are no exhibitions at the time.

Quinta das Vinhas is located approximately 35 mins from Funchal, and 50 mins from the airport. Take the highway to Ribeira Brava, up to where the motorway ends. At the roundabout take the 1st right, and you'll go through a tunnel which takes you to another roundabout, where you take the 2nd exit to the right. This will take you on a waterside highway through LUGAR DE BAIXO and on to PONTA DO SOL. through a tunnel. You come out of the tunnel onto another roundabout which has a sculpture in steps. Take the 2nd exit to the right to Calheta (do NOT go into Ponta do Sol). This will take you on a waterside highway to madalena do Mar. After Madalena do Mar the highway takes you through another tunnel and on to another roundabout where you are sure to take the 2nd exit to the right, signposted Calheta (DO NOT go into Arco da Calheta). You'll go through two tunnels and come out at a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit to the right signposted PRAZERES. You'll go through another two tunnels, and will see a signpost to Estº da Calheta. Do not turn off here, but keep going several meters on to the 2nd sign Estº da Calheta. There is a sign to Quinta das Vinhas. Follow this highway for 0, 8 Km, and you'll see a extensive marine pine tree. The gate to uinta das Vinhas is several m on, on the right, and in facade of the recent wellness centre (CENTRO DO SAUDE). The wall is painted ina reddish coulour, with Qtª das Vinhas in tiles. Drive down cautiously on the cobble stones, and garden your auto on the left by the major cottage.
